In accordance with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s statewide order for all residents to shelter in place and the numerous local and State proclamations, orders and supplemental directions regarding the COVID-19 virus, Public Works hearings are held through videoconferencing and will provide for remote public comment.

  1. Order No. 204254              3 Locations in Supervisor District 2

To consider removal of three (3) street trees at the following addresses:

3235 Baker St. Tree #1 and #2 (with replacement)

3494 Sacramento St. Tree #2 (without replacement)

(Staff approved the removal and the public has protested)

 

  1. Order No. 204255              1 Locations in Supervisor District 3  

To consider removal of one (1) street tree with replacement adjacent to 201 Drumm St. (tree #5)

(Staff approved the removal and the public has protested)

 

  1. Order No. 204257              3 Locations in Supervisor District 7   

To consider the removal of two (2) street trees and one (1) Significant tree at the following addresses: 607 Congo St. (removal of Deodar cedar tree on private property, with replacement)

This tree is a Significant tree: located on private property behind fence, within 10’of a public right of-way.  Staff denied the removal request and the property owner has appealed

 

177 Eucalyptus Dr: Two (2) street trees: tree #1 and #2 (with replacement)

Staff approved the removal and the public has protested.

 

  1. Order No. 204259              2 Locations in Supervisor District 8   

To consider the removal of one (1) street tree and one (1) Significant tree at the following addresses:

 

145 Guerrero St. (removal of eucalyptus tree on private property, with replacement) This tree is a Significant tree: located on private property behind fence, within 10’ of a public right-of-way.

Staff approved the removal request and the public has protested

 

2356 15th St. One (1) street tree #1 (with replacement)

Staff approved the removal and the public has protested

 

  1. Order No. 204260              3 Locations in Supervisor District 9

To consider the removal of three (3) street trees with replacement adjacent to 580 Banks St. The three (3) palm trees are located on the Ogden St. frontage of the property Staff approved the removal and the public has protested

 

 

  1. Order No. 204261              2 Locations in Supervisor District 10

To consider the removal of two (2) street trees with replacement adjacent to 2100 19th St.  The trees are located on the 19th St. frontage of Downtown High School.

Tree #4 (Ligustrum lucidum) and Tree #5 (Acacia melanoxylon)

Staff approved the removal, and the public has protested

 

  1. Order No. 204262              2 Locations in Supervisor District 11

To consider the removal of two (2) street trees adjacent to the following addresses:       1601 Aleman Blvd. Tree #1 (removal with replacement)

The elm tree is located between the driveway and utility pole; the replacement tree will be planted next door adjacent to 1617 Alemany Blvd.

 

111 Brunswick St. One (1) street tree (with replacement)

The pine tree is located at the corner of the house, near the base of the foundation.  Staff approved the removals, and the public has protested.

(This Order supersedes Order No. 204256, which incorrectly stated District 4)

To consider the removal Street tree removal within Supervisor District 5:

Removal of two (2) street trees at the following addresses:

470 Fillmore St. Tree #1 (with replacement)

1655 Waller St. Tree #1 (with replacement)

Staff approved the removal and the public has protested

 

As the COVID-19 virus situation evolves, please visit the Public Works website (sfpublicworks.org) regularly to be updated on the current situation as it affects public hearings and the department.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION. Persons unable to participate in the videoconference may submit written comments regarding the subject matter to Bureau of Urban Forestry at 49 South Van Ness Ave. Suite 1000 94103 or urbanforestry@sfdpw.org. Comments received before the hearing will be brought to the attention of the hearing officer and made a part of the official public record. Individuals who wish to speak at the hearing and who want to use materials such as PowerPoint files, documents and photo images in their presentations must send the materials to Bureau of Urban Forestry via email at urbanforestry@sfdpw.org by 5 p.m. the day before the hearing. If attendees access the webinar via a computer, they will able to share documents themselves via the “share screen” functionality.
