San Francisco Public Works Week 2017 is fast approaching, and we are packing a lot of activities into the celebration that runs from April 24 to April 28. Our annual event energizes and educates the public on the contributions San Francisco Public Works makes to improve the quality of life in our communities and gives us a chance to join together to celebrate our accomplishments.

Employee Picnic, Friday, April 28 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Crocker Amazon Park - RSVP here!

Awards and Pins Ceremony, Tuesday, April 25, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., City Hall, South Light Court

Join us to congratulate Public Works employees for their outstanding work and career milestones. We'll be recognizing employees for their years of service and honoring those who have shown excellence in carrying out our department's Strategic Plan. RSVP not required.

Watch the game with your colleagues and root for our Giant Sweep partner, the San Francisco Giants, as they take on the Los Angeles Dodgers! To purchase tickets, please contact the following representatives from your office location:

Game tickets are $27.00. Each ticket includes admission to the game, $12 credit to concessions and a rally towel. Seats are Sections 325 and 326. 500 tickets are available at this price. Buy your tickets now! We sold out fast last year!

Tailgate party! Join your colleagues for a tailgate party before the game! It starts at 5 p.m. and will be located in Parking Lot 'A', along Terry Francois Boulevard, near Pier 48. Party tickets are $5 each and are good for food and drinks. Buy your tailgate party tickets from the above representatives.

Operations Open House, Wednesday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, 2323 Cesar Chavez St.

Know any youths interested in a career in the construction trades or who want to learn more about our cleaning and greening initiatives? Our Operations team is giving demonstrations and info about apprenticeship programs. Participants also will get hands-on experience with our machines, a chance to build projects, an opportunity to climb into a training sewer and to ride sky-high in a bucket truck. The open house is also appropriate for children ages six and up, but younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

Architects and Engineers Open House, Thursday, April 27, 9 a.m., 30 Van Ness Ave.

Students get the opportunity to learn about Public Works' building design and construction with hands on activities alongside our architects and engineers. To learn more or to volunteer, contact Iheanyi Ngumezi.
